Greetings,
I'm changing our site and I was wondering which software would be best.

We have a custom jewelry business. We want to sell items from our site. It's that simple. We need something that will allow potential buyers to go to different pages that are specific to something like bracelets, necklaces, pendants, chainmaille, .....

I'm confused because there are so many different options.
I own VSD, Flash Menu Builder, Web Image Studio, and Photogallery.

What are the benefits/drawbacks of some of the programs?
I was trying to figure out if it would be easier to use a Shopping Cart program but was unsure if that just helps you design carts that then get loaded in VSD.
What is the difference between Shopping Cart Designer Pro or Shopping Cart Creator Pro.
Then there is Shopping Cart Designer and Shopping Cart Creator.....
The StyleSheet Maker.....a whole different thing.

It's all a but confusing. Please help.

Hiya Shirley,

To do what you're talking about you would want to check out Shopping Cart Creator Pro (which basically setups up the cart itself with your products and information about your products as well as extra pages) which is a website all in itself. You don't have to connect this with any VSD or other type of website you can have it be a stand alone shop all on it's own. It allows you to incorporate a number of pages that you can create for Contacting you, About your business, etc. as well as the cart pages themselves.

You would also want to check out Shopping Cart Designer as this allows you to manipulate elements of the theme itself and how it "pretties" up. Backgrounds, logos, image sizing, fonts, spacing, etc. is all done with this program. You then apply your changes made in this program to the Shopping Cart Creator program so they work hand in hand.

I suggest the "Pro" versions as they have most definitely the most functionality for most all the needs anyone would have for a shop. There are a few things not in there yet, but they are still adding things periodically so if something is missing that you need, just put it in the Suggestions thread for the program to get your voice heard. They are very well done though, very widely used by many happy shop owners.

You don't need the Style Sheet Maker for any of this, nor any other program other than a graphics editor to resize and edit your images with. Don't really need any other programs at all to utilize these 2 shop programs.

Take them both for a trial spin and see how they work for you, that's the best way to know if they will fit your needs, but I think they will just fine. Good luck on it and enjoy the trials :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
