Web Stat Placement ??
An upgrade several months ago included an option of adding web stat code in a dialog box. I'm using Statcounter. Prior to this I inserted the stat code using Notepad ++ before the closed body tag at the bottom of the page and all docs / links above the Statcounter code were recorded by the stat program when opened.
Using the VSD dialog box to insert the code -- it places it at the top of the body --- the pdfs / links below it are not recorded as being opened. The placement on the page code is significant. Statcounter confirms that it must be placed after the pdfs / links for them to be recorded.
Is there something I don't understand about using VSD / inserting web stat that will place it at the end of the page before the closed body tag ?

VSD uses absolute positioning of the contents, so if you place the html box with the code at the very bottom, below all other content, it will be at the bottom.
I'm not quite sure in what sequence the markup of the VSD made websites are read by the browsers, though (I don't use VSD myself). In VSD the markup is entered in the sequence of your adding elements, so if the first thing you do is adding the StatCounter code, it will appear before the rest of the elements' code, but it will still be at the bottom of the page because of the absolute positioning (if you put it at the bottom, that is. But to be sure to get the script as the last thing in the source code, you could create the pages with all the pictures, text and everything else, and let the very last thing you add be the counter script.

I looked at their site and a lot of the other WYSIWYG editors require you to put the supplied script between the body tags. Did you try putting the code into a HTML box (Body HTML) and placing it at the bottom of your page?
Sorry Inger I was typing my post and looking at the stat site all at the same time.

Oh, that is OK
I'm using StatCounter as well, and when I set it up for my sites, I was told to put it at the bottom of the pages, just before the </body> tag, as Steve says. But I'm no expert on VSD, so I experimented with it a bit and saw where the stuff went that I added...

The location of the statistical counters can be in any location on the page. Yes, many suggest you are to place it in that area, but it will work in any location on that page. There is no specific feature or method in the software to make it that exact location.
If you feel you must have it in this area, you would need to use our HTML Editor instead.
