Hello all last year some folks were having this problem, it was an old post so I thought I'd start a new one. I was happily using VSD decided to purchase, edited my page with new updated VSD uploaded, then continue to work. I went to save my document, it said something about not having enough memory. So I closed VSD and tried to re-open my web page and I got the error msg : The Webpage could not be opened. I can open new projects, and some of my old test pages but not my main project.

HELP!!!

Hiya Denise,

Although I don't know the answer to your problem, I figured I'd ask the obvious question others will most likely ask too hehe, did you uninstall the trial version and then install the registered version? If not, I would suggest you do that. Uninstall the trial version, reboot your computer, then install the registered version. Of course, post again if that wasn't the issue and if you already did this originally, and post if you do this and still have issues too. Good luck with it :)

I will definitely try that, however, i was successfully using VSD for 4 hours afterdownloading, prior to the issue. Wouldn't the download overwrite the trial?

- Thanks!!

So I cannot delete the trial, there is only one version on my computer. I am nervous to uninstall as I don't want to loose my ability to have the software of three different computers. Wouldn't uninstalling on my comp and downloading again from the website take down my three to 1?

You already downloaded it right? in order to install it right now (you installed the registered over the trial I'm assuming right?) so you shouldn't have to redownload it at all. I'm not sure where you're getting this limit of 3 downloads from for that matter, you can download it as many times as you like there's no limit to that at all. You are able to have it installed on 3 computers per the license agreement, and other than that you should be find to uninstall and reinstall it without any problems.

It doesn't uninstall the trial version as far as I know, you should always unininstall the trial versions prior to installing registered ones for all the CC software. Some companies don't have anything different and just give you a key to enter, but CC software is marked trial and can sometimes have files conflict that didn't overwrite correctly if you install a registered version over a trial. Hope that helps :)

nah I don't think that's the issue unless you have hundreds of pages? I know there's a limit in VSD but I think it's quite a few in the hundreds of pages before it will limit you.

I wish I could stick around to help more or see if this helps, but I'm taking off in a few hours for a long weekend so I'll post this next suggestion for you and hope it works *crosses fingers*.

It could be that there's still residuals of the old program so here's what I would try next.
Download ccleaner from http://piriform.com and install it. It is a pc cleaner, a very light weight cache and registry cleaner which will remove registry entries ONLY from things that have been uninstalled as well as cleaning cookies, temp files etc. It won't mess with anything else on that. It's very safe and if you do a search on the forums here for ccleaner you'll see it's very widely recommended. I use it a couple times a week sometimes just to remove trash cookies that sites like to stick on my computer as well as keeping my registry clean after uninstalls.

Anyways install that program and then uninstall the registered version of VSD again.

Run the ccleaner.

Reboot your computer.

Reinstall VSD.

Find out if that helped at all *crosses fingers again* hehe.

Good luck on it and if no one answers anything else (providing that didn't fix it) by tomorrow evening I would suggest putting in a support ticket to CC and have them help you. Have a great day :)

Hi FOlks, thanks for all the help. The last suggestion did not fix the problem. I uninstalled, scanned, scanned twice to make sure and then re-installed........ tried to open the file, and same error MSG.

Denise, are you installing the software into the default location on your computer? Sometimes installing to a different location may cause problems.

You could also try redownloading VSD, and BTW, let it download via your browser, not through any download helping software.

If you are not able to solve the problem, I think it's best to open a support ticket and let the support staff help you.
Ha en riktig god dag!

I have a support ticket open....they suggested basically the same thing which hasn't helped.

I am downloading via chrome through browser, I can open my other older VSD files but not my good main one (of course). It was working fine for several hours, froze and said something about not enough memory, so I shut it down, and when i tried to re-open the error msg appeared...

Sigh....
