Also, how come (for example) each menu button on all pages are saved as a separate images when its the same image. Much duplication on the graphics in a project.
VSD - Saves all pages
Why does VSD save all web pages when you only change on page ?

Hi Joseph,
when you make a change to page in VSD, as you know it makes a record of everything you do from removing to adding an image , or moving an image from one place to another. it loads this php file to your server as well.
now when you click on save it has to go through all your pages because it doen't know if you made a change to one page or more so it looks for any changes before uploading. whatever it finds it uploads just what is changed even though it looks like it's uploading everything again it's actually not. just read the little window that pops up with the loading bar and see. VSD also has to match the php file on your server to if they are different it corrects itself. and updates the vnu file in a folder on your server named backups. (in case of an "oh oh" type thing ( hard drive bad) and you need to redownload your website.
As far as the images being duplicated I'm not sure I haven't run across this as of yet but just make sure you have the latest version sir.

Thanks for the response.
To view the images look in your "files" folder and view it as thumbnails
you'll see many duplications of buttons, etc....

Joseph,
I can explain this. Each times you create an element in VSD (shape, advanced text, text shadow) or upload an image, VSD saves it in your "_website" folder when the site itself is saved. This is also the case when you create a page.
Anytime you change your mind and decide that you want to use a different graphic in place of the old one, whether it's an image, advanced text (which VSD saves as an image), shape, or whatever else, VSD saves the NEW graphic in your "_website" folder, but it does not delete the old one. This is also the case with pages. Each time you change the name of one of your pages, you'll find that VSD saves the html page in your folder, but the old page name is still in there as an html file.
You can go in your "_website" folder, click on the "files" folder, and delete EVERYTHING. Don't worry! As long as all your images are still in the same folders on your computer, VSD will re-save all these files inside that folder the next time you open the software and hit "save", however it will only save the elements that are CURRENTLY on your page. Since all your "extra" files were deleted, this helps a lot in keeping that folder clean and organized.
VSD does automatically deletes unused files from your hosting server each time it uploads, but it doesn't do this in the "_website" folder for some reason. Maybe suggest this to Scott as a fix for the next version?
