Can any VSD-ers out there tell me why--as of two days ago--when I "preview" my in-process website, the mouseovers on all pages remain in "mouseover state" (lit up) until I come back to the particular page and mouseover or click on another button? Everything was working fine, and I've just been working on text additions the last two days, though I did move a mouseover button on the home page that was too close to another button. Any ideas?

Oh, yeah--I forgot to add two other things:

1) a mouse'd-over button (in Preview) not only stays "lit", it becomes surrounded by a box made up of dotted lines (?)

2) also, since this problem started, when I click on the non-homepage mouseover buttons while in VSD, they don't show themselves to be active buttons when the mouseover window is displayed, even though they work (strangely) in Preview.

No, I am creating the pages from "scratch", and not using a template/theme.
What I did now learn, however, is that the mouseover "stickiness" (or "stuckness") in Preview only happens when I use my new browser, Firefox. It doesn't happen at all when I preview with Netscape, which I recently stopped using (as a browser) because of increased crashing problems while online (there are no more updates or support).
Interestingly, I also notice that Firefox does the same thing with other websites' buttons when I click on them--it leaves a dotted-line box, of the same shape, around the button. Still, it doesn't leave the button "on", the way it does with my VSD-created site when I preview with Firefox. Any ideas about this?

Oh Gary,
are you using IE6?IE7? IE8?
"click to activate" you have to click twice for it to work......
what version of VSD? try updating flash? upgrade IE

I was mainly using Netscape (and occasionally IE8), but with NS crashing so much I just upgraded to Firefox. Still, when I preview my site in IE8 or Firefox, I get that mouseover sticking until I click somewhere on the page or hit another button. What's with that?
Also, what do you mean by "'click to activate' you have to click twice for it to work..."? MY VSD is the newest version.

Hi Gary,
I was thinking that maybe you should open your browser and upload the flash for that browser which wil remove the dotted box around your buttons or just go to http://www.adobe.com

I am having the same "stickiness" problem with my mouseovers, except without the dotted box and the ability to click somehwere and it goes away. I am viewing with the built-in browser and/or internet explorer 8. How do I get this to resolve?

Thanks again for the advice. I'll try the Flash upload, and see what happens.
I assume, then, that most folks with Firefox will have done the same, thus preventing the dotted box/button-sticking problem that I now experience.

I installed the Flash player plug-in, and there is no change when I Preview my site in VSD. The dotted boxes remain, and the button(s) stays highlighted ("on") until I return to that page and/or click on the background or on another button.
Any other ideas?
