VSD Links not always working

Using VSD 5.8.5 and on most pages the links are ok, but on a couple they are just highlighted in blue, but not active. Link to Email and a webpage.
Have tried cut and pasting active links from other pages, but still not working. Also noticed on pages where it isn't working, the skype automatic 'this is a phone mumber so i'll highlight it' feature isn't working either. (not that I like it when it does!!)

Yesterday I upgraded to VSD 6.0 and I am in the process of rebuilding my website. I have several (website) links on my site and when I pull up the link box I go on-line to the actual site and I copy and paste the url in the box - always worked before. Now when I add a url it isn't working. Everytime I try to save or preview the following message appears, (for each url), and I can not do anything until I uncheck the "use link" box for each one. The message reads:

"One of your pages links to the following file but it does not exist."

When that pops up it shows the url in the box and I can either click "OK", which stops the process, or I can click the browse button, which does absolutely nothing.

Please Help! I've got to get this done a.s.a.p.!

Thanks,

Hi Crazy Grandma,
I have to say VSD 6.0 is fantastic! Lots of really great features in this version, my favourite being able to add png files with transparent backgrounds.

But I noticed that link issue too. It only happens when you're using advanced text. If you uncheck "allow advanced text" in Object Properties your pages should save and preview. Of course your text will lose the advanced formatting, but it's a work-around until CoffeeCup gets this fixed, which will no doubt be soon.

Further to my last post:
You will have to select the text with the text tool and recreate each link after you uncheck allow advanced text. Not he best solution, to be sure, but at least you can get your site linked and up.

Hi again, Crazy Grandma,
Sorry to throw another post on this. But just don't want anyone to think they need to change all their links where they've checked of "allow advanced test":
It's only when linking to an external web page that the issue comes up. There's no problem with email links, internal pages or linking to documents.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have found, as you stated, that it is only the external web pages that I'm having problems with. Unfortunately I can't do much about it right now because I can't open any of my files. Everytime I try the program just keeps telling me it can't open website, which means that until I get that taken care of it's just too frustrating to spend anymore time than I have already spent working on my site. If I manage to get that problem fixed then I'll give the links another try.

Wish me luck!

Thanks!
Crazy Grandma

I am having the same problem with the links in the latest version of VSD. Is there a script we can write that would allow a work around?

Ok...no I really didn't. I downloaded and installed the new version Tuesday night.

I modified the html file to make it work, but I don't want to do that for every page and every revision.

Am I missing something?
