VSD hopeless with it's own created...
PLease check my website and give me some solutions.
I have Vista and latest Coffee Cup VSD version
I have read about the problem of VSD creating literally hundreds of IMG jpgs that conflict with each other, become distorted and make the software very unattractive. This is driving me nuts.
http://www.ecoachbowls.com/
new page withoput images http://www.ecoachbowls.com/Links.html
I have started to completely redisign it but still simliair problems and more hours of work.
also the object box doesnot tell you the file name of that objecproperites. only way i can work that out is from the website and clicking on the dud images...eg syas IMG_52.jpg. i then try to delcete or replacce it and get further problems.
I have delelted most of the IMG files so now trying to sort out every page as every page did have distorted images that i did not create, some are combinations of others . so many more hours of work.
Should i ditch VSD and coffee cup, refund please. or shuld i reinstall it?? or just start new website?
i have read some good stuff from paintbrush but not much help from Coffee Cup.
rememebr this program is VISUAL DESIGNER not TEXT DESIGNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please help regards robert

Visual Site Designer does not create HTML Standard references, it will actually rename any jpg's used within a site with IMG and in numerical order i.e. IMG1.jpg, IMG2.jpg. It must do this due to its internal link referencing and visual editing environment. There is really no problem with the way it references images it is just that users are more familiar with standard link references that point to the image name.
VSD does reference the image in its original location, but it creates a jump off point in the "files" folder in order to allow users to move it from system to system. If you are uploading through Visual Site Designer the references should not matter as you would not even see them.
The problems that you are experiencing sound as though you may have some files that are cross referencing, to correct it, you will need to remove the files from the server, then re-upload fresh files so that the browser picks up the newly added content.
There are two ways you can go about doing this, one would be to use the Re-sync option. This option can be found by going through the following Settings-> Resync website.
If that does not help, you will need to connect to your server with an FTP application, then manually remove the files from the server, then re-upload through Visual Site Designer.

I think Orlando is correct. I had the same problem initially and it is easily fixed by deleting the .vsd file from your server. After another upload of the site it should be fine.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
