VSD has encountered a problem and...
I've constructed a website using VSD and after successfully loading a few files to my host, found that I cannot upload any more files as the following message appears and the program closes down:
"VSD has encountered a problem and needs to close".
When the program closes the following message then appears "The instruction at 0x73dd11c7 referenced memory at 0x00000004 The memory could not be read" comes up.
I am using Windows XP with SP3 and Internet Explorer 8
I've tried lots of things from the blogs online but cannot get Coffeecup VSD to upload files anymore.
I also have Coffeecup form builder v8.2 build 206 and it also closes down and displays the same error message but luckily just after the files are uploaded.
All other programs on my computer seem to work fine.
PS: I've managed to FTP files from coffeecup programs to my host server using WS_FTP12 and the website looks OK although the page headings and a picture are missing and only red crosses appear.
I've put this dilemma to the Support Team but thought I'd also place it on the User Forums as these have a wider audience.
Any out there have any suggestions to solve these problems?

Well one of the things that many of us would suggest I am sure - is to make sure you have downloaded the latest versions of the programs and then uninstall, reboot and install again. My technical knowledge isn't that great, but I do know that it only takes a couple of corrupt files to mess things up, and a reinstall often puts things right again.
Until someone comes in with other ideas, it won't harm to do that. Just make sure you have backed up any important files or projects before doing so.

In addition to what Janys says, it could be worth while downloading a free prog called 'Crap Cleaner' (pardon my language, but that's the name of the app.
) from pirisoft.com and install and run it on your machine. If you do have corrupted files, this clever little programme will find them and correct them. And THEN you can reinstall VSD.

Ha en riktig god dag!

Thanks for the advice Janys and Inger.
Orlando from CC Support also suggested a similar process using a file cleaning program.
I'll give it a try and let you know if it's successful.

Just an update to how the problem was solved:
My website is now up and running perfectly.
The problem was that we had a virus that was stopping programs from working.
We only realised this when Internet Explorer and Outlook slowed and then completely stopped working.
We had an IT guy clean it up, install Norton Antivirus (we had free AVG which is always out of date apparently) and when I reloaded Coffeecup VSD, Web Form Builder and Flash Menu Builder they all worked perfectly.
I'm still having trouble receiving emailed files that are attached to a form I constructed in Formbuilder but there are plenty of hints on how to solve this problem on the CC Forums.

ouch Dave,
Sounds like a mess you had there, glad you got it all cleaned up though. Just for posterity, I don't know who told you AVG is always out of date, but if it was that techie, he made a sale off you with a lie just so you know lol. AVG is one of the best "free" antivirus programs out there. Norton is not the best as far as I'm concerned and I wouldn't have wasted my money on it, but that's just me lol. Either way the problem is fixed for now, lets hope that Norton does it's job for you and keeps it that way.
None of them are perfect, and just because something gets through 1 of them, doesn't make it inferior. I've tried at least a dozen different mainstream programs including Norton, AVG, Avast, Eset, PC Cillin, and many more and every one of them let something through at some point or another, it's gonna happen unfortunately. I believe I was reformatting my computer almost every 6 months to a year due to viruses etc. that I couldn't get rid of until I got PCTools Spyware Doc with AV. We're going on 1 1/2 years now without an infection *knocks on wood*, and you know that now that I said that I'm gonna get one right? LOL.
Anyways, that salesman/techie should be ashamed of themselves making you buy a new program that wasn't needed. He should instead have done his job and made sure that AVG was setup correctly to keep you clean.
Just my 10 cents of course
