VSD goofs up my sites
I have several sites that I need to update constantly. I went back to one I hadn't touched for a few months and noticed it had picked up graphics and text from sites I have currently been working on and inserted some of these objects randomly on this older site. All the images I can decipher but it is all very blurred and has made a complete botch of the older site. I encountered this once before and redid the entire site since it was such a mess, so no solution was ever found, but I really don't want to redo this site again as it's enormous with alot of graphics, with more to insert. I'm now in a big panic! I have the latest version of VSD (5.8.5). This site was done in a much older version. Could this be the problem perhaps? Will it be necessary to redo everything. By the way, everything appears in place whilst I'm working on it, it's only when I preview that everything goes AWOL. Please help if possible. Thanks!
I'd try clearing your browsers cache first before too big of a panic and see if the older site still looks goofy. The only other guess at the moment is if you might've done an upload for the newer site and it uploaded to the older site's space (VSD's FTP destination stays set to the last used, I believe).
Just a guess, but look at your "FTP Settings" under the "Settings" to see what profile you are using. I have had similar problems, by forgetting to double check this before using the VSD upload feature.
I have suggested that this be fixed by hard coding each FTP location into your site design or prompt the user for the correct FTP location before uploading.

Well I have tried all of these things although I clear my Cache almost daily and sill the same thing is happening. I also changed the FTP settings, although I have not reuploaded the site due to the big hash that appears in preview. The site is ok published at the moment and I don't want to replace it until the preview appears as I intended, so....should I perhaps redo this site? Is this due to updates of VSD since this one was a much older version? Will the same thing happen to all the other sites I have to work on if I update to newer versions of VSD?
Just for the record and for anyone else that may encounter this same problem - I renamed my pages but in doing so, did not redo the links on my CC generated menu. Since doing this, the site previews fine and has uploaded without a worry. My own stupidity and a logical reason for the messed up looking previews, not the software. CC have been very good with their help - thank you - and I did try suggested remedies but in the end, oversight of a logical error on my part!

Was this ever implemented? I keep uploading one website to the other because I forget to change this setting. It's a pain in the rear.
