Hello Michael, have you already tried the suggestions above? If not please do so, if so then please try typing Child Killed into the search here at CC and see what it comes up with, there are a lot of posts already on the subject that may help you.

Here's a couple to get you started, but there are quite a few more posts when I searched for that word string of child killed so give that a shot and see if any of the posts help at all.

Do let us know if anything worked, or if you tried all the suggestions and nothing worked let us know that too and if that is the case I would also suggest you put in a support ticket to CC for further assistance. Do try the things in the posts first as many of them are suggested by CC's team.

My VSD Trial version crashes on startup under XP/SP2.
It ran once after first install, then never again.
Have tried turn on/off computer, un-/reinstall. Nothing helps.
Want to buy this package (I am using the HTML editor now), but
this issue scares me off.
Can anyone help?

I would first say you need to update to Service Pack 3 and a minimum of IE7. You are using a pretty outdated system with tons of security holes in it. Once you do that and you still have problems, opena support ticket and we will try and get you fixed up.

Thanks for a really quick reponse!
I just got a tip from reading another thread in the forum:
Opened up with new project, all OK (always running as admin).
Loaded the old project, still OK, seems to work all the time.

I run all the MS updates when issued, but will upgrade to SP3, am running IE8.
Will upgrade to Win7 later, any problems with this?

You should have no issues at all using Windows 7.

Hiya Keogge,

Have you installed anything new recently or done windows updates recently that might have changed something that is conflicting with VSD? Even updating other software can sometimes do this. If it was working a week ago, I would definitely look into something like this being the problem.

I'm off to bed, but hopefully it gives you a starting point to think on.

Hiya Keogge,

I would suggest you open a support ticket and see if the CC team can give you assistance on this. It definitely sounds like something just recently changed on your computer, or security software or something anyways changed, especially if it was working fine and then just started crashing. Hopefully they can tell you what's wrong. Do let us know in here by coming back and posting to let us know what was wrong so we can help others later with that problem. Good luck with it :)

Hi,
thanks so much Scott, I had lots of trouble with VSD crashing in Windows 7 but now that I have added those two ticks you mentioned it's working brilliantly!

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
