VSD crash on starting- "child killed:...

I am running VSD 5.7 and when I attempt to start the program, I get the error message above. I first see the start up screen asking if I want to open a site, create a new site, etc, then it crashes with the message above. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Please upgrade to 5.9.4 We have made a lot of changes since 5.7 and this new version should fix many things for you.

Thanks, I did upgrade, I uninstalled all Coffecup software first, re-booted, downloaded a fresh copy, installed, and I get the same error message. Any ideas?
