Well, this came out of left field! I just tried to update a web site I have been using for ages and I got the "Could not create a catalog" error message. I did a "Test connection" and it worked fine.

There is a similar issue in the Archives from Sept 2006 but no real solution was offered.

All I tried to do was add a song to my Juke Box. Works OK in VSD preview. It just will not upload. Same ole problem of integrating the two programs. I deleted the JB from the VSD site and added it afresh. Did all the saves, made sure all the files are in the same folder as the VSD files.

Guess it is kick the cat time again.

Hi Bass,
Most of coffeeups flash programs can be added using the flash tool, (I'm sure you knew this) so I would ask is the WWW in the ftp settings correct? are you using version 5.94? ( don't remember) if so kick the cat!
Tried clearing the cache folder or temp folder in windows? refresh?

Funny thing is that Juke Box updated the site with the new track on its own even though I apparently did not upload the site from VSD.

The www stuff is correct, I am on 5.9.4, I cleared the cache and the temp, I double-checked the password.

What should I refresh?

The problem is only on www.raputtak.com. My band site, www.uphilltheband.com uploads just fine to the same host (godaddy).

What exactly (or even approximately) does "could not create a catalog" mean?

Here, kitty, kitty...

Hi Bass,
Anytime I make a change to the jukebox, a menu, a video in VSD and save it, VSd automatically updates the current XML, html (if used). It even states this when saving, so I take it it doesn't for you?

create a catalog is what is in the WWW slot of your ftp settings in VSD. (root) I believe.....sometimes I get that error a few times but it fixes itself .

Hi. I have seen this error some time ago, and I believe it was a file naming issue. When this happened, were you adding images to your site? Have you recently made a new page, or chaged a logo? I ask because if you added an image, and it's name had a space between words or a special character, like ^ or * or \ in the name, that could cause a problem and vsd won't be able to complete the code for the page.
An image named:
image_1_big.jpg
is named properly, as underscores are fine to use, but an image named:
image 1 & large .jpg.
is not. Note the spaces, the & and even a . after .jpg
The same goes for page names and any other file you use, like flash.

Check for all those things and fix them then rebuild your page or take the images off then put the ones with corrected names back on and it might work?

I'm getting the same error and do not have any image naming problems.
