I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question, but, I have used VSD to make all my sites and I'm having a problem with the PDF links I have used. They open fine in preview, but on the internet a box to save the file opens and if I save then it says OPEN and opens in my Nitro PDF program. What have I done wrong, or what can I do to fix this. Have tried to contact Nitro, but haven't been able to get them. This used to work fine, but don't know why it is not working now and why the pdf won't just open. Thanks for any help. Sarah I also have acrobat 9.1 and if I use that the same thing happens.
Sarah,
Can you post a link so others can try clicking on the PDF?
If I click and the PDF opens, and others experience the same thing, it is likely something installed on your computer.
If everyone is asked for a download, then it is time to check the code.

Thank you Bill. It's happening on all my sites. Here is one of them. http://www.kent.lwvmd.org.
Sarah,
My attempts are opening as they should, for what it's worth.

thank you Spinny, I just read how one is supposed to fix this from Adobe Reader. so, I uninstalled Adobe reader, restarted the computer, added a fresh activX and it still doesn't work right. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Sarah,
Don't know why you are not seeing your PDF's.
When I open all of your "Newsletters" they open great for me. They are all in PDF format.
I'm using Firefox 3.0.10 and Adobe Reader 9.1.0.
Sorry I can't help.

Sarah,
Try opening your acrobat reader and click on edit | preferences | internet
You should see a box labeled "Display PDF in browser" and if that box is checked you should see the PDFs open in a browser and not download.

Thanks Bill, It is checked and still doesn't work right. I unchecked it also to see if that made a difference , but no, it didn't, so I checked it again. I uninstalled acrobat reader and reinstalled, I uninstalled Nitro and still no change. Shut down the computer and restarted and no change. I am lost as to what to do. thank you for your help.
Sarah,
This tech note from Adobe mentions the chance a registry key is corrupted or points to another app when it shouldn't. Maybe something helpful?
