I'm still hoping that one of the adds for VSD 6.0 is for table creation. By putting text and/or photos in a table it's easy to keep your page organized neatly.

Version 6.0 corrects that issue. All of our templates and tests validate with the W3C with no warnings or errors.

Version 6.0 does not have a table creator. Maybe later, but it has been a very low user requested item.

Actually, in the web design stuff I've been reading the trend is to consider that a mis-use of tables, and to deprecate them in favor of div/span and style sheets.

Humm, mis-use of tables.. Perhaps, I was just looking for an easy way to layout photos on a page for display and get the spacing even vertically and horizontally rather than the multiple steps required for using alignment guides. I used tables in Dreamweaver in the past and was looking for the same capability in VSD. Also handy for tabular text. I'm getting spoiled with how easy VSD is and wanted to stay with the program even though I bought 3/4 of the add-ons, I only used a couple so far.
Too bad.
Too bad.
Please don't shoot the messenger.
I wanted badly to use tables to line up my icons/links page, for example. It's just that in my readings to learn what/how to do I encountered that attitude. Pretty much anything HTML for placement of elements that isn't related to style sheets is getting deprecated and eventually removed from the language, or so it seems from the readings.

I'm going to toss my hat in for a vote for a table creator in VSD.
I'm getting to the point where a table would be a more logical layout for certain items.
I am temporarily just using a table from Micro$oft Word saved as a jpg.
The issue is that the text isn't searchable from any browser since it's a graphic.
And I'll admit I'm too lazy to redo my VSD sites using the HTML Editor.
So please contribute to my continued laziness in my copious free time!
Thanks!

Hiya WMammel,
Just a quick observation and question. Are you familiar enough with HTML that you "could" do it in the HTML Editor? If the answer to that question is yes then...
You can always export your site from VSD to a folder (project folder even for the HTML Editor) and then load it up in HTML Editor and alter it that way from then on. No need for you to have to 'redo' it persay, just might have to tweak it a bit as I don't know how different the 2 programs show things. But I would imagine no where near as bad as starting it over would be. Just a thought if you were thinking that you wanted to do the HTML way.
NOTE: Just keep in mind you can't ever go back to VSD with it then as there's no export to VSD from HTML Editor.
