I am having a problem with frequent program crashes with VSD 5.9.4. Just wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. I will be working and the program just crashes. It appears even more frequent during uploads. I have to be very careful to save before uploading, because of the frequent crashes. The crashes seem to be intermittent and not related to anything in particular. I am using Win XP.
I've been using 5.9.1 until recently and I've found the same thing. I'm using XP also.

Hi I have XP SP2 I.E.7 and never had this problem with 5.9.4, but what I would suggest is to uninstall it, restart comp, then reinstall it see if this helps. Please let us know
As you stated, I am also running XP SP2, IE7. I uninstalled VSD. Restarted the computer. Downloaded a fresh copy of VSD 5.9.4, and installed it. No change. I opened a site, went to upload it, about 30 seconds into the upload the program crashed. Please note, it does not always do this. Sometimes I can complete the upload. It does not necessarily need to be in the upload mode either. Sometimes it just crashes while I am modifying the content of a site.
not sure what is causing your copy to crash but once I had installed VSd on a secondary hard drive, (E) and it did the samething your saying during uploading, so I'll ask this dumb question is yours installed in the default C drive? could it be an anti virus or firewall problem? maybe try closing some of the running programs in the background may help (CTRL+ALT+Delete)
Yes it is on the C drive. Although I suppose the problem could be with anti-virus, firewall, etc., I doubt it. Previous versions worked fine. There appears to be a flaw of some sort within VSD, just not sure how to compensate for it.
Well Hopefully Someone Will Offer Up An Idea Or Two
I'm now using VSD 5.9.4. I have tried the uninstalling and reinstalling and am still finding the same problem. The other day it crashed the moment I opened it about 4 times in a row. I had to restart the computer to get VSD to open. I haven't looked into anything running in the background though either.

My computer is set to automatically download and install updates. However, just to make sure I visited the Microsoft update site. All is well. ????????
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
