Visual Site Designer Question Ref:...

I'm sure this is easy, just not familiar with the software yet. Scenario: I created a site with a template from Coffee Cup. I worked within the framework of the design window while I was building my site. In the Preview Browser I noticed two things, First, the background is now extended to the far right in the full browser window, but my images and text are all indented to the left of the page. I can move my Jukebox over to the right and it appears fine, but the images I have don't. When I try to move them to the right, the preview screen scrunches them up (will not go past limits of the design screen, or in simpler terms, will not leave the background area)). How can I post my images (homepage) on a part of the screen that in design view does not have the background extended to the right edge? I know this doesn't make sense but I need some advice...thanks!

Hi withoutanet,
under the settings tab select"standard settings for new pages" you should see something like this.
http://kellyinfo.com/web/centered.jpg
see if checking this box straightens anything out.

Thanks, Bruce. I did that, and it centered everthing but it seems about a third of my page is off limits to images (right and left sides.

Hi,
VSD can only be edited in Design View as you call it, you won't be able to go beyond the templates design without getting into coding, at which point it would be better to go with the html editor and each page yourself. Can you tell me which template you used please?

Not sure which template it was...came with VSD I assume. I see the jpg's of it in my folders, but no template name...so you're saying I'll have to edit HTML coding to get this template to display at normal width? I didn't know there were different sizes...I assumed when you pull it up on the www, they all basically display at the same size...

what I'm saying is, you can adjust the size of the pages say from 740x600 to what ever you wish, but the template itself can't be changed, unless you know html coding and then VSD can no longer be used as the designing program you started, it won't recognize any changes in the coding when uploaded. In the image above it shows where you can change the sizes, can hightlight them & manually change them or use the drop down for default sizes.
I've changed size from 740X600 to 1024x768 just to see what it would look like, of course you'll have to move and adjust the images and what not, but it was full screen and I didn't check to see what other browsers look like, but note that templates are not centered by default.
