I fell into the CTRL+A a few times in the past and crashed the software (latest version).

It is the same oddity like marking objects using SHIFT instead the Windows' standard of CTRL.

Actually using shift to multi-select is an extremely common convention, especially in 3D modeling apps. When in Windows Explorer I have to remind myself to use CTRL.

Using VSD 5.9.4

My crash happens when trying to restart the program. If I stay on for ever, it is stable. I submitted crash info to support. To recover, I reload the SW. and stay on untill . . . . for ever?

Awaiting a response from Tech on this same problem. Mine crashes when moving too quickly from text to another function. I'm on XP, and would usually only have my Corel Paint Shop open, in addition to the VSD, as it's waaay too time-consuming to reopen Corel every time I need to tweak a pic (it's like loading Photoshop). I was saving after each adjustment (which is slightly ridiculous, honestly), but now it crashes whenever I try to save. I'm about to find the nearest, open three story window! Should have been done with this project hours ago!!!

Will update if I get a resolution...

I just responded to your e-mail Chris. I think it will be best if you call our office first thing tomorrow at 678-495-3480 and schedule a phone support call with our support department. We can then remotely connect to your PC and see what is going on. From the description of the issue, it sounds like some sort of conflict with your firewall or anti-virus software. Once we see it in action, we will know more.

Yes I'm experienceing the same issue...I try to open a VSD file and get "visual Site Designer has encountered a problem" and I can get no further....Should I be putting in a support ticket for this or is there a quick fix to this as I really do not want to have to start building my website all over again.

The error I seem to be getting is "The instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".

I'm running Norton 360 provided via Comcast. Up to date & VSD is set to 'Allow' in Firewall.

Since the update to VSD, I'm crashing regularly. Trying to create a new page copy of the home page is a certainty. Wish I hadn't done the upgrade from the previous version. Too buggy.

Hiya Nick,

What version of windows are you on? If you have Windows 7 have you tried setting it to Run as Administrator to see if that works?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
