Hi,

When I opened with text editor and put the below google tracking code;

<script type="text/javascript">
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
try {
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-9366776-2");
pageTracker._trackPageview();
} catch(err) {}</script>

just in front of the </body> tag on all of my html pages but then it seems that every time I edit and upload the files its getting removed so I keep having to do it all over again. Any suggestions as to how I can make it stay there permanantly?

Cheers,
Tony

I think you are pasting this into VSD in the wrong location. You should use the new Analytics option that was added in 6.0 instead.

Cool! I should have known that you guys were way ahead of me and had already figured that out.

Thanks!

Hey Scott, do you have to put the Google code into the Analytics option on every page? I thought I read somewhere once that you only needed to do teh Home page. Thanks!

It is a global setting that will apply to all pages.

Alright, I'm using VSD 6 now and rather than posting the code on each individual page like I was previously, I'm trying to use your super sweet global add option. Problem is, Google is not detecting the code. After looking into it a bit further, it appears that the code is being inserted in the body section, not before the head section like they want it to be. What's with that?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
