Just out of curiosity - I see this announced here, but if I did not come here, how would I have found out about the upgrade? I did not get an email about the fix upgrade.

Yes I had been expecting an email also. I've been waiting over a year for 7.0 to release and I just found out about this today!

We sent an email out to all registered users last year a few times Chad. ;) Updates are always posted in the forums first.

Yes I don't doubt that, but I don't get every email you guys send for some reason. I never got the one about the beta testing for 7.0 either, otherwise I'd have been able to help with development of it as well. I need to check my email client and find out what's wrong. I'm sure the issue is probably on my end.

It is 2011, get rid of that e-mail client and get Gmail! :)

You can even get free hosted email on your own domain with them http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html

Did I read somewhere that it is really advisable to uninstall VSD 7 before installing the update known as

CoffeeCup_Visual_Site_Designer7.0-Build_16.exe (24.38 MB)

Greg

When I stop learning please check for signs of life.

The software automatically does the uninstall but it is never a bad thing to manually uninstall the software first.

Also, does VSD not support transparency? :o
Aren't you a little short for a Storm Trooper?

Sure it does. ;) You can add transparent PNG or GIF images to VSD.

I have a Windows XP system successfully running VSD 6.xx. I downloaded the latest Version 7 build 19. When I try to run it gives an error message "Application has failed to install because MFC90.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"

Repeated installing does not fix this. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix this. If I try to locate a copy of MFC90.dll and move it to the Visual site designer directory, it comes back with an error message that a different xxx90.dll is missing.

Please advise.

Try going to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d … laylang=en and download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) for your operating system. That should add the required DLL's back to your system.

I downloaded the Redistibutable package for my operating sys and ran it. I first selected the option to uninstall anything there. Then I ran it again to do a complete install.
I uninstalled the original VSD and then reinstalled it. I still receive the same missing MFC90.dll message, when starting VSD.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
