We just released a very nice update to CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer that includes not only some rather interesting bug fixes, but also has major changes to the HTML markup that the software generates. For all intents and purposes, your website should render almost identically under all major browsers and operating systems.

Thanks Scott. I installed it last night and everything looks good.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

That's exciting as I had previously gotten reports of my sites being messed up on some browsers.
Any chance that it would ever be compatible with your HTML program? It would be great to be able to wiz through basic design with VSD and then tweak with the HTML.

Sorry, but that will never happen. Just way to many variables would get introduced by doing that.

Downloaded the newest version this morning. One of my sites has had some problems with text shifting down or adding an extra line. Opened it up with the new version, bit of editing and saved everything, then uploaded to my server. Just checked out the site with IE9 and it looks just like it does in VSD.
Another Awsome job guys! Thanks

Arghhh! Just spent a bunch of time writing a question. THOUGHT it showed up... and now it's gone! -sigh- Maybe I only hit Preview. Well ... it's gonna be a lot shorter this time around.
I just installed the new version - was excited that it was supposed to render more accurately.
Opened my first site. Yup - looked perfect. (Didn't need to update anything, just wanted the new more browser compatible version online.) Just for the heck of it, I checked Preview before uploading. Yikes! Text is all off ! I had noticed that the text box setting had changed, but as the text LOOKED OK, I wasn't too worried about it. Wouldn't mind TOO much if i had to re-align a bit to accomodate the new text size - but it LOOKS FINE in the program, so I don't know what to shift. What I see is NOT what I get.
HELP !

Linda, I had a few glitchy paragraphs too after moving on to 7.22. I found reducing the font size took care of them. I also had one line of text that insisted on dropping the last word no matter how far I extended the text box. I changed it to 10px and now it behaves
I haven't gone through all my sites - by the time I do that, they'll probably be up to 7.32!
Hey - why are you worrying about your website when the big egg hunt is on?

LOL. First I heard of it was when I logged on to the forum. Though I remember getting an email about it last year, didn't get one this time. Probably just as well - last year I spent hours and didn't find anything that wasn't already 'taken'. As I've already bought all the programs that I need (and a few more that I don't!) I figure that time would be better spent elsewhere.
And a program that loads right on more browsers might actually generate more CASH. : )
As to the text. My problem is that when I hit preview it already shows the text smaller than it was previously. It looks the same (fine) in the VNU file (ie. the program) but looks different when I preview it. : (

What you see in Visual Site Designer is only an "approximation" on how your site will look. There really is no such thing as a true WYSIWYG program due to the way browsers and operating systems render text.

I'm aware of that, but the OLD program was pretty darn close - and this one isn't close at all. After previous posts saying how much MORE accurate the new version is, I'll admit I was pretty surprised to find that wasn't the case at all, so I was hoping I was missing something. As guessing where text and shapes will show up is pretty time consuming - I'll probably just go back to the old version.
Bummer.
