Visual Site Design Background

I have been working on a website where I have been trying to match the background color with the home page banner image. I used my photo editing software to cut out a section of the banner image so I could match the background precisely, but it will not match in Firefox, my default browser. I defined the image file for the background in Settings->Standard Settings for new page... I just checked it in IE and the background matches perfectly. In trying to resolve the issue I have also tried to refresh the page and I have also cleared the cache and history. What do you recommend I do? I and probably overlooking something obvious.

Thank you,
