Probably a completely obvious question, for which I apologize in advance.

I created a menu with the Flash Menu Builder and inserted it into a site I'm building in VSD. I previewed the result in VSD and it looks fine ---

However, in the main VSD window, the menu shows up only as a blank box.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or will my menu always show up as an empty box when I'm working on the individual pages?

How did you add the menu to your VSD page?

You should use the flash tool and navigate to the XML file for the menu. VSD will do the rest, including uploading to the correct locations.

I added it using the Flash tool inside VSD, then selected the menu xml file.

I'm pretty sure that I did at least part of this right because the menu shows up correctly when I "preview" the site (from inside VSD, by clicking the Preview button at top right of screen).

It's just not showing up in the main window ---- which means the menu shows only as a blank box when I'm doing development, making changes to pages, etc.

Maybe this is how it's supposed to work ..... ?

Sami, this is how VSD is suppose to work, you will have an html box showing during the making of your site and the samething when using the html tool as well.

Sami, if I understand what you are saying, Bruzer is right. While in the development window of VSD, the menu doesnt actually display... you only see the html placeholder for it.

You will only see the actual working menu on Preview, or after it is published on your webpage.
