I'm helping a friend with her website and she has her site currently through Go Daddy. What info do I need from her to be able to upload her site from VSD?

Why not make life easier in advance for the future (GRrrrrrrr GoDaddy :( )

Get her to open an account with CC and buy a copy of VSD, transfer the website files to her PC.

Then she can upload using her CC log in, NO FTP required and FREE hosting included.
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

If you've just built her site and need to load it up to GoDaddy then all you'll need is the Account Username or Account Number and the FTP Password.

I'd suggest you two get together and call GoDaddy Support - they're always happy to help. I've hosted with them for several years and you can always count on their Support Team getting the problem resolved quickly.

I've got 21 websites hosted at GoDaddy and have never experienced any downtime or problems whatsoever. They also offer some pretty aggressive discounts for paying up front for service. Take the three year pre-pay economy site and your home free for like $4 a month. You can do practically anything with VSD, Form Builder, Flash Blogger, Web Calendar, Photo Gallery, Firestarter and Password Wizard.

GoDaddy will provide FORUMS, Databases, etc, at no cost to you that can be integrated into your website no problem.

Here's another question...she currently has a site she made with their "Website Tonight" product. Do we have to take it down before I upload the new VSD site?

When you upload, it will overwrite that site, but then you will have a mixture of two website projects. I would suggest taking it down first and then upload with VSD.
