Uploading Error with VSD - Page 2

I've had an upload problem since day 1 with VSD. When I do a server test, it comes back: Testing Server and Logon ... OK, Testing Folder Creation ... ERROR.

We have never solved this problem. I use Filezilla to upload my site, and this works fine. I have HTML Editor, and it will upload fine from inside the program. I also use Shopping Cart Creator. It uploads fine. We have the exact same hosting info in all these programs.

So..... It would be nice to have VSD upload like it should. I LOVE the Coffeecup software, and the people at CC. So, I'm not being negative here. Just puzzled - as I think the CC kids are, too. I put VSD on my wife's computer as a test, and it tested just fine. So, something on my computer isn't happy with VSD - or the other way around!

Any help gladly accepted!

Hi Tim,
What version are you using? And have you tried uploading without testing? if so was it the same error?
:)

Hi Bjorn,
This tracker your talking about is it html coding? If so try adding the code using the html tool instead of adding the code using ftp. or could explain it with exact details please.:)

Hi: When I try uploading without testing, I get a note that says, "The program could not access the catalog on the server. Several things could be responsible for this issue, so you should try connecting again later."

I'm using the latest upgrade, 6.0 build 6. This has been a constant issue though from the first I tried using it, back in February.

Again, the Coffeecup folks have been heros trying to work through this with me (it was a suggestion worked out between CC and my hosting provider that I use Filezilla, after all), so I don't want to leave any impression I'm upset - I'm Thrilled! with Coffeecup. Something in my computer just doesn't like something in the VSD code, and we can't find it - but we keep trying!!!

Thanks,

TBI

Im getting this error too. It deletes my index page when it uploads too. Only way I can get round it is using the Coffeecup FTP program and selecting the updated saved website and dragging them into the folder on my host.

Got a few other glitches too seems when I make changes the whole site can go wonky with random boxes overlaying others. Then I have to save as - rename - then ftp to get it working again ! Means more work :|

Deletes your index.html file? noway! ( that alone would worry me) are you sure it's not overwriting or not saving the changes.
When you make changes to your website, and you decide to use an external ftp client, and it glitches out, I would have to say this, that if your only uploading the changed page, you would save the changes first and upload the files folder as well, Then after that upload your .vnu file so you at least have a back up on your server. Normally goes in the "Backup" folder.

I would also lie to say try uploading with another ftp client such as filezilla, for testing purposes, I had this same problem and used filezilla and it stopped, but there have been some upgrades sense so this would be your choice.

When getting that error if you watch the loading bar, it will usualy stop on what it has a conflict with, such as an image or html file, maybe even a flash object, if so then try removing that item and see if it uploads without error.

Hi Justin or anyone experiencing this problem,

If you are experiencing an error message with VSD while uploading see below.

Check and see what is the folder that you are uploading to...??
If in your hosting the primary website is the website that you are uploading to then the folder is the primary folder and that section should be blank BUT IF IT IS followed by a forward slash "/" then this is what you need to put in your WWW: section when you are setting up your internet connections with VSD.

See example below:

server: www.domain.com
user: you know
Pass: you know
WWW: /

Yes put a forward slash in the WWW: section in VSD.

See if this works......:)

Best Regards,
Alfonso
