Understanding VSD Page Names

I want to possibly buy CC VSD.. I have Firestarter.. and really like it.

I have downloaded the trial version of VSD.. and created a page. Was able to upload a page to already existing website. The problem: Even though I have named the PAGE ID: "20080226test" it seems there is no such page uploaded.. however.. the HTML page seems to be saving as index.. or default. I don't want to put a page named index up on my existing (YAHOO SItebuilder) site.. Fortunately.. I uploaded the new page to a sub file.. and didn't overwrite my existing "index" page.

I hope someone understands.. My basic question is.. why doesn't the HTML page save as the PADE ID name?..

I am not a PC wizard.. but I have some basic knowledge.. so help.. if you can.

by the way..
here is my homepage (built with Yahoo Sitebuilder): http://www.southerngospelreporter.com

and here is the test page built with VSD:
http://www.southerngospelreporter.com/gospelsbest/index

notice the name "index" Why isn't this named the same as the PAGE ID?

I hope I'm right on this, but the way I understand it, VSD is meant to be used for creating a complete site, not add-on pages to an existing one. And the first page created is indeed the index page.

If you still want to use VSD to add pages to your existing site, you'll have to make a folder on your server and upload into that. Then VSD can handle the file names as it pleases. You just have to make the linking in and lout of that folder correctly.
