I have installed VSD 6.06 on a laptop with a fresh install (formatted hard drive :( ) of Windows 7. Every time I open VSD, it brings up the UAC prompt. There is no "don't ask again" on the UAC prompt. It is getting old. it still opens but it's annoying to have to get past it each time. And unsettling that VSD is "making changes" to my computer if you believe UAC.

I understand there was a problem in Vista that had to do with running the s/w as admin. Is the same thing happening in 7?

ta muchly,
KC

I believe that will stop if you run the program as administrator.

okay - but if I'm already logged in as the administrator (it's the only account on the computer) then...

Am I relegated to a) clicking through the screen every time or b) lowering security on UAC?

I don't think that matters to UAC. You should only have to do it one time and should be good to go after that.

Even when i run as an admin, UAC kicks in.... Not a big problem, just a pain in the azz

Yeah - it's every time I open the software. And no, it's not a big deal but it threw me the first few times because I wondered, what could CCVSD be "changing" on my PC every time it opens that is causing this?

Otherwise, it's just a pain to have to click through it all the time. I suppose I can leave it open indefinitely and just let my system sleep rather than shut down as I do sometimes. I just don't always know when I'll be coming back to my laptop and a sleeping laptop is a battery-eating laptop.

So, you guys have right clicked on the exe and select run as admin, and the UAC still kicks in every time? That has always fixed any issue I've had with a program and UAC. Sorry to hear that.

Yupper. :(

makes me wonder if there's some strange little checkbox somewhere that I don't know about (always possible) that says, "Ignore what she just said." :)

Because I felt silly looking like a faceless man, I have replaced my avatar with a more suitable image.
