Good Morning!
(1) How can I put in extra spaces in text? I need to line up some text and don't want to use text boxes because this is a lot of text and would take a lot of time and effort.
(2) I'm trying to link a line of text with a pdf document on my computer. I've done this on other websites. But now I'm not having any luck. It looks like the links work, but the link is grayed-out and when I preview it says that apparently I need some kind of different software. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for all your hard work and all the help you give me,
Ruby

Hi Ruby,
1. Take a look at this.
http://progrower.coffeecup.com/text.html#eventext
2.
The link will work on the live website.

I watch these forums to learn things but not to get to involved in the "harder stuff".
I'm sure it will help Ruby. I have now just implemented it on my pages and it certainly makes the text look neat............... Thanks

Well, I hate to admit this, but I'm really dumb at doing this. In the past, I've added html using the Flash Object. So, I went to the link provided and tried (tried a couple of times)...put in text to see it align, but then didn't know what to do...tried previewing and couldn't see anything. I'm afraid (as a novice) that the link needed more clarification for me. Would you mind taking a look at the attachment and telling me what I'm doing wrong? I really would appreciate that.

In the code where it says "Place your text here" place all that text you have.
If you need separate lines but a <br> at the end of each line where you want a return.

Shouldn't I be able to see my text when I do a Preview?

Ruby-
With VSD and using the text editor it will not let you add more than one space between words. If you have two colums of text to line up my trick is to create two text boxes and place them side by side. I use copy/paste to do this. Another trick is to use the shape editor and copy/paste your text into the shape via the Object tool. In there you can space things as far apart as you want.
For a .pdf file to work as a link you must link it to the file in the Download folder of your VSD site files. If the file is linked to your desktop it will not work. You can either place a copy of the .pdf file in the Download folder then link to it, or after linking from the desktop file Save the site and VSD will place a copy in the Download folder, but you still need to link to it. If you have more questions I believe there is a forum about linking .pdf files to a VSD site.
Good Luck
Thank you Eric and Tim for all your help and great tips and advice. I've got this website kind of working the way I want, but not totally. Eric, if you don't mind, I'm going to bookmark your website. It's really full of great ideas. And Tim, your website for the church is beautiful.

Glad you got it all sorted out. The more you work with it the better you'll get. Once you get past the unfamiliarity you be good to go.
Have fun with your new discovery.
