Strange image distortion.
before and after of a button created in PS (as a jpg)
Any idea what happened? Obviously I'll replace the distorted image but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone had seen such a thing before. Only these particular images (I have three similar buttons) are distorted along with their mouse-over clones.
I have plenty of other jpg and gif images that remain unscathed.

When did the distortion happen?
If it happened after being placed in VSD...two thoughts:

*I think others have experienced odd things happening when adding styling to images or text.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Yes, after going into VSD. However, it had been in there for a couple of days. This happened at the same time VSD started duplicating images like mad (no longer happening!?) in my files folder. Some odd glitch. I replaced the image with the original and so far it's fine. I don't use styles or resize the original so...
Sounds like you might have a computer like mine...a mind of it own doing unique things with VSD.
Hopefully it will play nice now.

Some strange stuff sure went on that night. I don't want it to happen again because it made a mess of my "files" folder and made me go dig up graphics again. OTOH, it was so transient and bizarre that my ranting thread sounds like I imagined it all.
I can recall having made a site with VSD which had this kind of problem. What it came down to in the end was that the old images were still on the server but were taking on the shape of the new ones. Just needed a bit of a clear out and a couple of new uploads for the server to realise that it really did need to dump the old stuff.
Hi Janys,
Unfortunately, mine were solely on the computer on which I was working with images that had not been altered in the code in any form or fashion. I hadn't even used styles or effects on them thinking this might be the problem with the duplications. This was before any website had been uploaded. So, perhaps we'll never know. Some argument between Windows 7 and CC perhaps. It remains a mystery and has not happened again. Neither the distortion nor the wild duplications.
At this point, for me, only a weak shrug and clueless grunt seem appropriate.

I use VSD all the time and that same problem happens to me. for example I found out while uploading to your server, if you press refresh you site will look all messed up, but once it as finished uploading and you press refresh again it comes back to norm.
What you see is what you get.
