Security Problem linking to PDF file
On one of my pages I need to link to a series of PDF files.
A week ago I set up the link for the first PDF file and that worked fine - I loaded the file onto my hard drive, linked to it and it worked fine in Preview.
Today i loaded some more PDF files onto my hard drive and linked separately to each of them. But in preview, when i tried to use the new links, for each of them i got the message "your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" although the original link still works fine and, as far as I can see, it was set up in the same way.
VSD has loaded all the files into website/files/download and it is difficult to see why preview works for the first file but not for the others
I use Internet Explorer on Windows 7 and all my security is via Windows Security Essentials
Does anyone have any ideas how to overcome this problem?

Do the links work after you publish your site ?

Hi Scott,
I have not yet reached the stage of publishing the site.

Hi Scott,
Problem solved. By looking in the Properties/General of the new PDFs I discovered that they all had some kind of security block because they had come from a different computer from mine (I had received them as email attachments) so simply involved clicking on Unblock
But, since I had also received the first file as an email attachnent from the same person, I am not sure what the difference was.
So the problem had nothing at all to do with VSD
Thanks
John
