Hi all,
When I save my website using “File>Save As” VSD will create a folder that ends with _website and also a separate vsd document file. The _website folder contains my pictures/photos folder, the files folder which contains website images, and also the website pages files. The vsd document is saved outside of the _website folder. I have tried moving the vsd document to the _website folder but then VSD cannot find my photos and I am guessing this is because the file path is incorrect.
I was wondering if this is normal and if you all have your files and folders set up the same way?
Thanks,
yeto

I always start with Save As and let VSD do its thing. I just leave stuff where VSD puts it
I create a folder to save my images and graphics in. When I insert something from that file into a VSD page, it gets saved (by VSD) in its Files folder. So I have:
My Site (folder I create)
1 - Folders within this for Images and Graphics (also PDFs and other docs if needed)
2 - The my_site.vnu and Files are in that main My Site folder - but separate from each other
3 - Form and Gallery files are also in the main My Site folder

I wonder why VSD is saving the vsd document outside of the specified _website folder? In other words, what tells VSD where to save the vsd document?

Only the VNU file will be outside of that folder. All referenced files are located in the _website folder.

How does VSD know what location to save the VNU file?

It saves it where you tell it to.

As usual -- I'm confused. All the files and folders were saved in the folder I specified (using File>Save As) "except" the VNU file. VSD placed the VNU file in the folder "one up" from the specified folder. If I drag and drop the VNU file to the specified folder then when I open my website VSD can't find my photos.
It's no big deal but it just bothers me that I can't understand how VSD places files.

Yes, that is correct and how it is supposed to work. Do not manually move anything or you will break it.

If it makes it easier for you, make a folder on your desktop called "website" and then save your VSD project into there.

Yeto - that's what I do (see above). All your site files will be in one place and VSD will be happy
