Question about the New VSD

I have the Design Suite from CoffeeCup, and love it.

I just downloaded the newest VSD 5.8.1 and have a question.

My site is created and all looks great. I have a "links" section that I sometimes want to add banner links or still picture/banner like grpahics with the url attatched to the picture. Some might be html for peoples banners, others, I just click the add picture tool and make a banner with the clickable link.

Simple enough.

When I tried to upload only the new updated links page it says "upload changes" or "upload all". I click "upload changes" but then it tells me it will not upload the new images that go with the links!

I only want to upload the changed "links" page, not my other 8 pages, one of is a Web Video player with 9 clips in it. If I "upload all" it takes FOREVER because of my web video player page.

Please tell me there is a way to only upload the changed or current "links" page and not all 9 pages every time i only want to change or add to only one page out of 9.

If that is the case, and I am worried it is, lol, PLEASE ;) update the next version of VSD to include that.

Don't get me wrong, I love you guys big time, but this is very frustrating.

Thanks. ;)

hi, I believe if you use the remove files under settings to remove those Videos that it wouldnt take much time uploading, but it will interupt the previewing until you put theem back in the add files if that makes sense

Thanks for the response Bruce.

I get ya, but to do that everytime seems redundant and a pain.

I can't believe that they expect you to do that each time. Do you think that is the only way? I hope not :( .

Hopefully Scott can let us know ;)

Hi, I have noticed in the update that the only way to preview was to add the needed files to the add files, and in the old version was able to remove those files with no set backs, but in this case whatever it is doesnt show up so you need to put them back in the add files for the preview to work, and it's the only way I know of for right now.Sorry.

You lost me :(

Can you explain that in newbie terms?, lol.

Are you saying saying they removed a feature?.

That is not a good way to update software, taking good features away.

I hope I am understanding this wrong ;)

heres what i do
after pasting an object on my page i simply go to preview and cant see it. so i then use the add files and now I can see it in preview. so I upload my site using send all. then I remove the objects , images whatever and then save and I cant see them the next time I open VSd so I have to use the add files again to add them and i can view it.
does that help?

That is odd Bruce.

I did not add files (I use the add picture tool and the add url tool) for the links/html banners, and I can see all of it in preview and I am running the newest version of VSD.

So are you telling me I have to remove files from the other pages (about 10 total), save them, send the new updated page I created, then find the files I removed and saved, and put them back?

That is nuts. :(

Not saying that at all! what I'm saying is if you just upload the the html pages and you have the video files in the add files, it would be quicker to upload if you remove anything from the add files wizard, that cuts down on upload time. but if you come across a preview problem try using the add files wizard and add them again and save and it will preview for you. Only if you used the add files wizard in the first place. if you didn't then disregard this. The upload html only is in case you move things around, there's no option for one page or 2. so selecting send all is it.
