I'm trying to place objects and text with advanced features on top of a gif. animation. They always go under the gif. Regular text is fine, it goes on top, but objects and advanced text automatically go behind and it doesn't let my change it in with the arrange feature.

Maybe something in this thread might be of help:

Christine (can't see Christopher's site) - Another idea would be to simplify your design - too much movement and special effects can detract from the actual content and make it annoying to stay on a page for very long. Decide if the animation is truly beneficial for your site's visitors or just a distraction. ;)

Off topic - I get a long horizontal scroll when I view your site on my netbook. An 1800px wide page will also require horizontal scrolling on my laptop. Here's some page size info:

Now, if someone with animated GIF experience would jump in here.....
I hope you all get it figured out :D

Part of producing advanced text involves VSD creating an image of the text with its effects and whatever portions of the background image(s) that lie beneath the text. Since the graphic image of the text isn't animated, it won't work with an animated gif background.

So,either you use real text with no effects or make sure the text doesn't overlap the animated gif.

If the animated portion of the gif isn't actually behind the text, a smaller gif containing just that animated area should be used, and a regular image for the rest of the area that falls under the text.

I was doing some tests with trying to use the attached text image over top of an animated gif. The only way to do it was to use the html tool to insert the gif image's html code into the page (so VSD didn't know the gif was there), add the gif itself to the root, and then use the picture tool to insert the text image on top of the html box in which the gif will appear.

So, the html code would look something like this:
<img src="image.gif" alt="" width="50" height="40">
