I'm new to Coffeecup VSD. I've completed everything on my website except for the documents section. I've linked my buttons to my pdf's, but when I preview the page, I keep getting file not found errors. I've added the files and then linked them, but I cannot get it to work. Any suggestions?
Hi Frank,
I believe your project must be uploaded first to see it. Won't view in preview.

This is the path to my file that holds all of my sites files put together by VSD
C:\Users\GregB\AppData\Local\Temp\vsd_tmpdir
This is the path to the file folder after double clicking on the folder the folder opens and this is the path to it
C:\Users\GregB\AppData\Local\Temp\vsd_tmpdir\files
Perhaps you have your document files in the file folder and they need to be in the same folder as the files for the index pg and other pgs. Try moving the files from that image file folder to its containing folder and see if they open up for you then on the preview

Sometimes VSD does not put the files in the VSD folder and you have to manually place them in either the file folder or the main containing folder which contains the file folder. When I added some swf files to my site via the html add snippet function I had to place the swf files into the folder myself and figure out whether to put them in the file folder or the main containing folder They worked and rendered in preview by placing them in the main containing folder and not in the files folder with all of the other images for the site. I think it works that way because they run from a browser like the files for the pgs and home pg.
Then I had to figure out how to get them to stay because when I would save or make future changes they would be gone again and I would have to keep putting them back into the folder

older versions didn't have this problem, it made a copy in the temp folder for previewing, and as always in uploading they get copied into the downloads folder in the files folder. who knew!

I have not put any pdf's on my rebuilt site. I went to one of my 15 extra pgs and tried to place an old pdf file I used on the old site and like you I was unable to get it to work. I tried everything that I know to try to get it to work and no go.
So I went to my old saved home pg site html code and pulled off the code for the link to the pdf file. I copied and pasted the file into the main VSD temp file for the site files and then added this html snippet that I have derived from the old site code
<p><a href="documentation pdf 1.pdf"><font
size="5">WHPC documents pdf</font></a><font
size="5"> </font></p>
then when I previewed the pg it was rendering up the pdf file

I'm having the same issue with a pdf file.
I've checked to make sure the file is in the correct place. The file has been uploaded to my hosting site, I hover over the link & it's showing exactly where it's located at - it's just not showing up since the recent upgrade to the current VSD.
Every time I click on the link, I receive a new page stating that 'the page can not be located.'
Any ideas?

Hiya Angeila,
Got a link? People can help a whole lot easier and faster if they can actually see the problem and the code

I am having a similar problem with the new version... I have even tried creating all new buttons on one page that has several linked pdf's, and while the first upload of the site worked, after all subsequent uploads (for minor updates on other pages) the links are lost! I have quite a few such links on my site, so this is a cumbersome and troublesome problem!
Here's a direct link to a page that has several pdf's linked...

hover over and check your link addresses in lower address bar, some of them have spaces that should not be there
