It's either me or a muliti legged creature.
I have Corel R.A.V.E which lets me create a swf movie. I opened this in DW and played the file, it worked, great. I saved the project, which created the HTML for the SWF file( I don't know if RAVE can do the HTML file yet).
I open VSD as a new project, named it then opened the HTML file copied and pasted it into the html window then saved the project then went to settings add files->browse chose the SWF file and hit open, but the file did not appear in the file window of add file to be able to move to the Root folder.
I tried coping and pasting outside of add file but no go.
I have had intermittent luck with add file this is ver 6.06 of VSD.
Didi I miss a step somewhere? Thanks Wyndham

Hello Wyndham,

Follow these step-by-step instructions to add a Flash animation to the .vnu file. Step 8 is most important.

1. Create and save the Flash.
2. Copy the HTML code to your clipboard.
3. Switch to Visual Site Designer.
4. Open the page where you want the Flash to display.
5. Click the HTML tool on the Toolbox on the left side of the workspace and then create an HTML object on the page.
6. Paste the code into the Body HTML tab.
7. Click OK.
8. Select Settings > Add Files.
9. Click Browse to search for the .swf file saved.
10. Click Add to add it to your .vnu.
11. Click OK.

Now you can preview the page within Visual Site Designer to view the Flash on your page. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Monica that's what i did and I have done this before with proper results,But when I chose the SWF file it was not brought over to the left hand screen that then is moved to the Root folder. Not only that but even on a reboot it still refused to bring the SWF file in so it could be added to the root folder.
I'm going to try another test website but I've had this problem several times, it seems intermittent.

Would the Add Flash tool be better than the Add HTML tool for something like this?

Hi Paintbrush,
the flash only works with any coffeecup program that makes an xml file in it, you can have another program outside of coffeecups that has a xml file but the flash tool will still not work with it. Just to clarify! :)

Wyndham if it is not moving your swf over to the proper side, then check this (just in case) can you see it in the remove files?

I used it to add a non-CC slide show to my site, just assumed that if it moves - use the Flash tool. I never would have thought to use the HTML tool for flash-type stuff!

Good morning folks. Monica,
I downloaded and reinstalled 6.06
I tried to create another site from stuff that worked before but the same issue comes up., in the add files>browse I select a SWF file and hit OK or double click and the add files screen comes up but no selected file appears. The other thing I noticed is that the browse button is no longer acive, I can not go back and choose another file. I have to cancel the add file screen. If I go back to the select > add file menu the screen appears I go to the browse button , the select file appears, I select file but it does not appear in the add file screen and the browse button is locked out and I have tp cancel. It seems that the add file has lost it's link and is in some loop that wont timeout.
The "remove files " is grayed out as there are no files in the root folder. Is there another way to get those files into the Root folder for the program to find them??
Do the file(Swf) need to be in the same place the index page is for the "Add files" to work??
Thanks
