It's Paint Shop Pro. I just followed David's advice, opened the image in Ulead's (who was bought out by Corel) PhotoImpact, saved it and it worked without a problem in VSD.
Now I'm glad I still have it on my system.
Thanks for all of your help, I'd have never thought it was my graphics program.

My guess is a Vista anomaly or Corel is saving an enhanced .png file that VSD in Vista doesn't like.

I'm running XP. There was some error message in PI when I tried saving it that it wasn't a merged image or something along those lines.
But now I know what I'm supposed to do to save it properly. Since I'm so familiar with PSP, I'll design in that, save in PI. Extra steps, but I'm okay with that as long as it gets done.

There are 2 possibilities that could cause this problem.
1. The EXIF information was either missing or corrupt.
2. The image was saved as as CMYK color model and not RGB.
When you re-saved in another graphics program, it would re-add the EXIF and most likely save it as RGB. In Paint Shop, check to see if you have an option to save or export to RGB and I bet the problem will be fixed.

just an observation of course but then why did it work on my XP, VSD?
and on Lisa's not. I know nothing about images and how resolution stuff as far as the settings go when making png's or gif's i just hope for the best lol.
Been lucky so far.

I've had many of the same problems with png files (as well as others!), and believe it may have something to do with the order in which you place them on a page, relative to other overlapping images and backgrounds.
Try experimenting with the order of placement and moving stuff forward and backward. Hope I'm not just adding more confusion to what is already confusing.

Hey Dan, I'll bet you a Scott dollar that if you added the images using the add files under the settings tab, it would cure your problem, but I will try your example.
