PNG files not displaying properly...

When I put PGN images into a site created with VSD, they "preview" just fine, but are very erratic as to whether they appear in the actual hosted website. This appears to have something to do with the order in which I put them on the page in relation to other images.

Can someone offer guidance on the proper process on embedding PNG files?

Hi Dan,
would you happen to have a link so the fine people here can view what your talking about, or maybe put a temporary site online so they can look at it?
Also your post is in the wrong area, there is a Visual Site designer thread just so you know for next time.:)

There should be 4 images at the left side of this site:

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Dan,
In the first line of code above, you call out an image file in your source tag. However the next four lines don't have complete image file locations(names) and is likely why you are not seeing the images you expect.

So, VSD has a bug when it comes to inserting png images?

It definitely has to do with the order in which I insert the various components of the page, and whether they overlap and how are arranged (front to back) on the page.

It seems to me that when I insert the PNG image last, and then don't touch any of the other images, it usually appears on the site. But if I inadvertently touch any of the overlapping images, then kaboom.

The worst part is that the preview always shows it to be OK. It's only when I upload it to the server and view it live, does the problem reveal itself.

Thanks for your help, Phil.

Does anyone at CoffeeCup have anything to say about this obvious bug?

When I look at your Website, everything looks fine to me here. I see 4 images on the left. VSD does not care of they are PNG, JPG or GIF's. To the program, an image is an image, so the markup would be no different.

If it is on upload only that you see the issue, are you sure your browser has not cached anything causing you to see an out of date version of the Website?

This was an old thread, but I am having the same issue now. The full path and filename of PNG images placed into VSD does not save correctly into the generated HTML page. Instead, the image reference says this: src="files/". There should be a filename at the end, but it gets truncated by VSD.

Any ideas?

To be able to get any ideas we need a link to your site so that we can see the code.
