Lots of memory, only images i create are giving me this error and they are by no means super high res.

Try having someone look at the images you have made. Maybe they will see the reason.
What is the width and height of these images?

550 x 81 pixels...its my logo 583 kb

Works if saved gif not sure why other jpegs work and others dont....

If you use Photoshop, use save for web and make sure all jpegs are saved as RGB, not CMYK.
