Mouseover in Ver 7 ....
In design using the mouseover dialog box I can toggle between original and mouseover and
text color changes as it should. When I preview the site the color of the text doesnt change.
Anyone having the same problem or is this me.

Have you followed the step by step guide in the Help Manual, Joe?

If the link in the Help Menu does not fire up the Manual, you will find it at: My Computer > Local Disk > Program Files > Coffee Cup Software > Visual Site Designer > PDF Logo. (WXP)

It is excellent, in glorious Technicolor and, of course, can be saved and printed off.

I realize this is long after the fact ... but I am wondering the same thing. This is the first time I've ever tried to do a Mouseover, so not sure how it might differ in V7. I do see where I have changed the text - but it is not working in the preview. Is this one of those things that only show up when the site it uploaded?

Hi Linda. If your applying a mouseover to a text box select advanced text then enter some alt. text if your not using some kind of effect. In the mouseover properties box there's a check box to uncheck if you don't want to use the oringinal text and have it change during the mouseover.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your reply. I had originally planned to set the menu items as text boxes, but didn't like that when I made them links they changed from the yellow I'd chosen to default blue. I remember running into this on another site I did. Though I haven't checked the new version, in V6 I did find where I could change the text links to not underline and be something other than the default color - but it forced me do so for ALL links which didn't work either. (light text looks great on dark background, but hard to see on light background)

So the short answer to your question >g<, is no, I'm using the shape tool and then putting the text in via the property box. I can see that I have 2 colors of text selected, but when I 'mouseover' in preview mode it doesn't show up. I seem to recall graphics with transparent backgrounds don't show up correctly in preview but DO show properly when the site is uploaded (forget how many hours I spent on that one!). Didn't know if that was the case for the rollovers too as I've never tried them. (Think I heard they don't display properly in some browsers)

Are you using the Buttonize feature? Also does the mouseover feature work when you click the shape in the design window?

No. While I noticed it is new in V7, I've never tried it. In this case, I don't really want it to look like a button, but like text.

Yes. I do get the 2 colors in the design window.

Though I haven't tried it with this version.
I did try to use text links on a site I was working on in the previous version.

Though I did shut off the underline (in the set-up defaults I believe) as you can see - results aren't consistent. You can also see what I mean by setting the default link color looking nice in the menu, but not on the page.

I am going for the same effect on this site, but hoping using shapes with text (as you would previously make 'buttons' prior to the Buttonize feature).

Can you show me an example of exactly how you want your text link to appear.:)

The above site link is how I want it to look.

Not sure if it will work, but will attach a saved version of the preview VSD gave me. Though I've changed the Home button text to go from yellow to red on mouseover. It doesn't do so on preview. Mostly what I'm trying to find out is if it DOES work on upload. If it's tempermental I'm not gonna bother with it. It's not that important to me.

Appreciate your trying to troubleshoot for me though.

Nope. It won't attach.
Maybe you could just try this for me. Make a shape button (old way without using buttonize) make it a link / create a mouseover and then see if it shows up when you preview the page.

I never used version 6. Do you want me to put any text in on the shape?
