Thanks Andrew.
I tried it with two different browsers and I'm pretty sure its not a cache issue. I'll try deleting all of the files after I re-create the buttons and then re-publish.
I agree that somethings not quite right but I cant seem to put my finger on exactly what triggers the issue. I'll get back to you folks when I get home from work and I have time to play with it.
Adding navigation buttons to a page should have been a simple process requiring minutes not hours in VSD.
Thanks.

I just noticed that VSD has now substituted a different image on my home page. You can see where the wrestler picture used to be on the page (upper left below the nav bar) , its now got a scrunched up banner image in its place. Something is definitely corrupt, I'm thinking I'll have to start over.....
I was not expecting a WYSIWYG HTML editor to be this problematic. My expectation was that I would purchase a theme, add some images and text, format the page layout, add some links and be done with it.
I'm a little disappointed but not deterred. I'll just do it over......

Jeff, This problem is not typical. Did you try getting rid of the shadow effect on those buttons just to see if that's what's causing the issue. VSD is still making the same large image.

The shadowing is part of the "buttonizer" function (I think thas what it was called, I'm at work and dont have access to VSD right now). I created some rectangles, "buttonized" them by selecting one of the colors presented in the tool and then created the links (also in the tool). I dont recall an option for removing or adding shadows to the buttons.

Just try making a regular rectangular object with text and link that to see if the shadowing is causing the issue when VSD makes it's own image of the button.

Indeed, if deleting pages and files from the /files folder (followed up by re-syncing) doesn't fix the problem, it's usually a corrupt file or something similar. You should open up a support ticket and send CC the .vsd file if the problem persists.

I deleted everything (locally and online) and started over. I have to add some images yet but the basic link buttons are working for now. I don't like the look of the plain rectangle box links. I'll play around with it for a bit and see what develops. Starting with a clean slate may give me some insight into when the issue is occurring.

Hi Guys - I have had exactly the same problem used a template from VSD added a tab made website uploaded via go-daddy no problem worked fine. Wanted to make tabs look better by adding shadow and site completely screwed up. Tabs picking up photos from rest of page all a complete mess.

You can see the problem when you save the site and look in the files folder that keeps the images there are a load of images that should not be there VSD has taken coloured buttons and put images over them and made whole sections of the page into 1 image!!!

It has also somehow sync'd this for past jobs so I cannot upload the original site!! I have even tried the original template as soon as I import a photo anywhere on the page and 'save as' when I look in the files section VSD has done the same again.

I think things may have got screwed when I tried to open VSD from the desktop link I am running Windows Vista and it said VSD has stopped working so I downloaded a fresh copy and subsequently did this about 3 times before I read on the forum you have to open VSD as administrator on Vista.

It seems like the bug is throughout VSD my only solution is to delete everything and rebuild the site and reload VSD from the coffee cup website I am also restoring my PC to the day before I downloaded the demo version of VSD so there should be no trace of VSD or corrupt files on my system.

Site is simple have saved text and remember what goes where so should have it re-done by weekend will let you know if I have any success.

I have exactly the same issue. And have been trying everything I can think of, bar re-publishing the site, to try and fix, so at least glad that this is a known issue. I really don't want to go down the re-publishing route. As someone else said, you really don't expect this to be causing a problem.... I have 2 pages that this is causing a problem on - I have a menu bar with 9 links on - 2 of them appear correctly, 7 of them have corrupted images from elsewhere on the site (and 2 of these 7 are themselves link buttons, but...the wrong link buttons). Help please, this sort of stuff is taking me ages to fix, and I'd just expect it to work

jfp – Are you using the most recent build of VSD (ver..7, build 24)? Could you post a link to the site?
And what template are you using?
