Steven you can get the RBG numbers from the Color Schemer program also, not just hex. Just right click the color in the program and it will give you options to get the HTML color or the RBG or some other options too.

Not true. I put a shape in and selected it to change the color and the Define Custom Color is still grayed out.

Yes, that is what I already did!!:/ I right clicked everywhere and did not get anything like what you suggest.

I want to know how to get this new color information INTO another program, I already have the information. Now what do I do with it??? The Define Custom Color tab is grayed out and you cannot put in into VSD of Firestarter. What the heck good is Coloro Schemer if you can't use the color you find???:(:(:(

I meant the right click to be over the color in the Color Schemer not in VSD. This gives you the options to get the type of color code you want, be it Hex or RGB etc. But it does sound like you already have the number you need and just need to get it to work in VSD now.

Unfortunately I'm at the end of what I can help with here as I don't use VSD so I'm not sure where any of that information goes at all or why it's greyed out for your custom colors tab etc. Hopefully someone that uses VSD can help you get that part working.

In my VSD7 the 'define custom colours' is also greyed out, but if I change either the RGB numbers or hue, sat, lum settings then I get a new colour in the little preview area. I can then either click OK and use it, or I can add it to custom colors with the button under the values.

Mine works fine, I've just tested it and I can fill shapes with custom colours.

On the left tool bar is also a pippette which you can select any colour on the page with, but as you don't have your new colour on the page yet, that's not going to help you, unless you import something into VSD with the correct colour on it and then sample maybe?

Hope this helps.

I finally got mine to do the same thing. All day long it refused to let me enter the new RGB number. But It finally did after I ate my turkey dinner and came back to the computer, it worked fine. But the define custome colors box is still grayed out.

Yep, mine is also greyed out. I don't think I've ever seen it active.

If you're eating turkey, I'm guessing it's thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans! (I'm an Aussie and ignorant of such things):)
