losing download links after updoading?
Hi All,
On the newsletter page of a website I have built for a non profit (circlepsanctuary.org) I built links to doc and pdf versions of 3 different newsletters for them. I used the link option in VSD that allows me to link to a document on my hard drive and the first time I did it, many months ago, it worked like a champ.
I haven't done anything with those links in months, however, I got a note from the owner of the site today saying none of the newsletter links work again?? Apparently, this problem has come up before and they just never mentioned it and apparently it resolved itself somehow because I never knew about the problem.
I'm wondering, because this is a large website (more than 60 pages in all), if I do a re-sync on the site, does that wipe out those links to my hard drive and in order to get them back on my server, do I have to manually upload those files from my hard drive to my server and if yes, where do I put them on the server so they will sync up to the links on the website? Does this dropped link thing happen in a predictible fashion so I know to watch for it or is it random?
It is very frustrating when something is working perfectly and then you get the note from the client saying, all of a sudden, for no logical reason, all the links dropped off. Any insights would be appreciated!! Scratching my head today! THANKS, Bonnie

Bonnie I can download all three Newsletters using Firefox and IE.
Perhaps find out what browser they are using ...it might be something their end.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
Hi Bonnie. The documents include spaces in the file names. Replacing the spaces in the file names with underscores might resolve the issue for you.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
The link from your main page worked for me ok in Firefox
http://circlepsanctuary.org/Newsletter.html - and I can see no spaces that might cause problems in this particular link. My only doubt would rest on the upper case N in Newsletter.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
