VSD 6 image link works in preview but not browser; have followed protocol in tutorial videos.

My default browser is Firefox.
It does not work there, or in ie.
bottom left corner says "mail to"
I am positive that I have selected the correct link option when setting up the link.
I have checked to make sure there are no other image or text particles overlying my link image.
I have not spontaneously combusted, but I am about to.:o
Thanks for any advice.

I hate being new.

Thanks, George.
the link? the web url is myfreemt.com
the link is from the purple hand. no other links have been set up yet.
Made a home page in VSD, made a second, completely blank page, assigned the link to the hand, and bam. works in preview, but not in real browsers.
Thanks. :|

Hiya Esther,

<div class="Object3"><a href="mailto:" ><img style="border:none;" src="files/hand for virtual therapist.jpg" alt="" width=63 height=70></a></div>

That is where your mailto: problem is sitting. If you want the hand to go to a different page then the "mailto:" needs to be your site page URL.

I don't use VSD so I'm not sure how to tell you to correct this since you aren't going to edit the files manually (well you shouldn't anyways since they won't be updateable in VSD then), but I would assume that you are actually choosing the wrong link type for your hand link. Check again to be sure.

Check your link properties on the "hand". right now its a 'mailto'. On your 'link properties' you should have the first radio button checked and pointing to the page on your site you want to link to.

The mailto is the middle (or second) radio button which it seems you have checked now. When i selected your 'hand', my email client opened up. By the way, something was being downloaded for over a minute from your page, it never finished but IE crashed on me during the download...

I have checked and double checked. The first box is the one I have selected. If I knew how to post an image, I would include a snippet. I am absolutely positive that the correct box is checked. :/

Thanks

The download thing.... could that have been me trying to publish? I was doing that until like 2 am.

Hi Esther,
1. select the purple hand image
2. Click the link tool from the top menu(the one with the two chain links)
3. Make sure the "Use link" box is checked AND
4. select the first round button under the "Use link" box
5 select which page to link to by using the arrow box that's next to the round button you selected.

Hope that helps.

Derrick, George, anyone.... I did exactly that. I swear, I swear, that is EXACTLY what I did. In fact, out of curiosity, I used the mail option with my email address in it just to see if the field designation got mixed up some how.The mail option works as it should. Maybe the first box is broken? I just wanted to see if there are any other, known reasons for this besides a radio box bug before I posted support.
My page name is the same as the radio name I am using, if that even makes a difference.
