I am trying to link a folder containing numerous genealogical pages to a button on my home page www.isger.com. I had previously used an old version of Dreamweaver [since lost] where this was simple but Coffee Cup VSD 5.9.4 is confusing me. When I preview the site all links work perfectly but the updated genealogical folder, although on the server, is not responding to the button on the home page. I get this type of error message- /files/Download/names1.htm is not found at this location
Coffe Cup uploads the main site pages but not the folder which I ftp upload to the server site.
I feel I am missing something very obvious?
Link button to folder
Brian,
Are you trying to edit your current site, or replace everything?
Did you build names1.htm with VSD, or is it one of your previously existing files?
I checked one of your links, at http://www.isger.com/files/Download/141.htm and it is not at that location. Since you appear to have an FTP program, look at that folder to see if the correct files are actually there.

Thanks. I am trying to edit my current site which seemed to be operating OK until I decided to update amendments to the 'surnames searchable index'. This data is produced by genealogical software and loads into a folder called 'Isger' which contains about 1500 small htm files. Within that folder is 'index.htm' which is the one I use in the Coffee Cup link box - 'Document'.
The files and folders on the server seem to be exactly as those on the hdd. I usually use FileZilla for the ftp work.
The root directory contains the Coffee Cup designed html pages plus the 'files' directory that contains the graphics for those pages plus a Download folder that holds the 'index.htm file from the 'surnames searchable index' folder. Separately listed in the root directory is the 'Isger' folder.
I have somehow broken the link.

I have solved the problem by getting a very basic knowledge of html which turned out to be an enjoyable challenge. The link path on the home page was pointing to the wrong folder. So using the HTML Editor it was a simple to amend.
Thank you, Bill and thank you Coffee Cup.
