Is it possible to make thumbnail pics in VSD? If so, can someone please tell me how? I would like to add alot of pics to our site, but they need to be resized a bit smaller, so that the visitors can click and enlarge only those pics. that they are interested in. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
You could use colorbox to make a great setup.

For my one site I first used Coffee Cup's PixConverter. It is easy to make a Thumbnail Html page, ie cakesbysherry.ca/cakepics.html, I put the thumbnail page into an Iframe. However you could not go right from one enlarged pic to another so I switched to using colorbox in an Iframe cakesbysherry.ca/colourboxpics.html
Hiya Mkwd,
Just a couple things. Use a gallery hehe, wow that was forever to load that page because of one major thing. You have all the images on the page in their large format and loading the full images instead of thumbnail size images. What you need to do is use a thumbnail size image for the small one and the link for the code referencing the large one so that the large one is opened when clicked.
Right now the way you have that setup, all the images are loading the full size images and it's taking quite a while to load with the amount of images you have on the page. You could do a lot nicer gallery look with jquery gallery or sliders, or even by using something like visual lightbox http://visuallightbox.com which would put your images in a beautiful setting as well as giving them the colorbox setup.
Just some thoughts there, but the main issue is you are not using thumbnail images for the thumbnail pictures, you're scaling the full size images to fit the thumbnail space and that means that full image loads every time that page loads which slows the page loading time tremendously. Especially on VSD sites which load slower than normal HTML sites to begin with.
Hope that helps

"Is it possible to make thumbnail pics in VSD?"
I think the answer is therefore NO
But what you can do is drag the size of images down to desired size in VSD, mm rather than pxl's
Then when you have the layout you want replace those images with identical ones which you have scaled down properly with photoshop or similar program
Add link to each picture which goes to a new page in VSD with the full size image on.
OR make a page with all the dragged to size images with space below each image to put in a button later
Put a single background object behind all the images, preview page, and save as name it thumbnail template. (you will need curser over background object)
In photoshop or CC webimage studio do a save for web
Now put that back into vsd as 1 image, and place a button below each thumbnail taking link to a new page with the full size image on.

Hi everyone! As always thanks so much for your help. I sincerely appreciate it. You all gave me very good advice and with things I hadn't even considered or known about. I'm off right now to check into the links you gave me. I will also consider your ideas Viv as they sound very simple and easy. I can't believe I didn;t think of that! Thanks again.

Hi Jo Ann,
are you referring to the links I posted above or for the main link itself, http://cakesbysherry.ca ? I never found either to take too long to load on my comp, little longer on my cell, but the main site itself has the script with cupcakes falling down, which does slow down load on cell. A gallery would been MUCH easier, but I haven't gone that route (yet) since it's still flash, and I am already using the 3 accounts for my S-Drive account. Also, the way it is set up now with colourbox I am able to separate the pictures into categories and not sure how I would be able to do that in an alblum. Plus the friend I made site for liked being able to see all thumbnail sized pics at once.
Talking about the page with the tons of images on it that you have the colorbox setup for

I'm on a pretty fast computer and connection and it took almost 30 secs for that page to load initially. Just letting you know

LOL!! I am on a very slow connection and had to give up after five minutes, when only about a quarter of the page had loaded...
@Mikwd: Your 100 images are uploaded as (typ.) 640x480px but are displayed as (typ.) 120x80px.
Each of your images represents a file size of about 150-200Kb, i.e. 15-20Mb total for the page. This would be reduced to about 10Kb each for the thumbnails if uploaded as displayed, or a total of about 1Mb for the page. The reduced-size thumbnails are generated automatically by the PixConverter if you tell it to...
For us poor souls with slow connections, this clearly makes the difference between "go" or "no-go" for the site!
