First and most importantly, I know virtually nothing about HTML and if it weren't for VSD there's no way in the world I'd be able to do a website. So - forgive me if this question (1) is meaningless or (2) shows my complete and total lack of understanding.
Whenever I update my site and publish a new version visitors frequently see images in wrong places. If they reload/refresh the page, everything looks fine. Is there some way to imbed code in a page that will cause it to load "fresh" instead of loading from the visitor's cache?
I understand that the various components of a page (buttons, graphics, etc.) are saved as images and that when a page loads the HTML is looking for certain images by their file names and if my new version calls for, example IMG_81 and the "old" version of IMG_81 is on the user's machine it will look strange.
I've never had this phenomenon occur when visiting other sites so surely there's someway to prevent it. Thanks!
is it possible to force a refresh?
This will help you decide.
