Hi, I am trying to insert a web counter from "Implied by Design" and I copy their code, paste it in the html tool box and the click finish. When I preview it there is a box with a red x in it in a box that says "Implied by design". I sent them an email, but have not heard back yet. can someone clear this up for me? Thanks. Sarah

I am using VSD, reg. version on Windows XP, sp2.

Not sure about how to fix up the web counter, but if you don't mind my asking....why do you want one?
There are other ways to find the statistics on web traffic that are more reliable and accurate. In my opinion, I find web page counters to look and represent rookie web design.
The control panel or CPanel for your web host should be able to give you web traffic stats that you can view and compare by month, day and hour to see how your site is doing.

The red X indicates a missing graphic. Likely the graphic is available on the web, and when you make the page active on your web site, the graphic will appear and will work.

Thanks Bruce, That's the site I got one from as I remembered you recommended that site before. I really like their counters as they match a couple of sites I have made. but, I am still trying to figure out what I have done wrong that gives me the red x in a box with "Implied by Design" in the box. If I inserted the code for the counter into Direct PDF edit would that work?? on the page I wanted? Sarah

Well, it didn't work. I uploaded to the web and it still had the box with the red x and the words "implied by Design" in the box. I even tried a counter from another Host and that didn't work either. Any ideas? thanks. sarah

Hi Bruce, Thanks, yes that seems to work in preview. It says 12, but it doesn't look like the little eggs from Implied by Design, but that's ok. Now what do we do? I akso sent an email to "Implied by Design" and they told me there were codes that should be deleted and that my editor was doing it. Said the &amp should be changed to just "&". But, of course, I don't know how to do that. Thanks for the code. You are so great. Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I tried it the way they had explained it to you, and it still doesn't make it show up. &amp; is equal to the "&" sign, made by the browsers for strict coding, so either way it would have gotten changed.If I explained that right. I to tried the egg anf it was a yoke! didn't show up. so it may be best to either contact them again and tll them it's on there end because some of their other codes get the same results, or choose another counter. thats all I can try to do, all thought I'm going to check the egg counter on other servers to to see if it works on any of them for sure.
The code I gave you was just an example from there, that I had and thats why it started at 12. sorry.

UPDATE: Sarah would you know which egg counter you used? #42-#43-#71?
71 is the only one I got to work so it must be the code -if the boss is set on eggs then i guess we could further into it if you'd like.
