I need help regarding the following issue :

I develop a site , and I use Visual Site designer 5.9.4
In some pages I use a script from google analytics .
I have to put it on the end of the page that I want to use.
This works excellent until I make update in one page.
In every update and upload to the server, the script deseappears ....
After every upload I have to copy the script again in all pages

Can someone tell me if there is a solution to keep the script on the site permanently in every update/upload?

HeiHo,

Try using the HTML tool to add the Google Analytics code.

Any changes you make outside of VSD will be lost the next time you use VSD. VSD does not read your HTML files, but it stores everything in a .VNU file. When you make a change it recreates the HTML file on your computer.

HeiHo,

I don't know that you can specifically put the code directly above the </body> tag, but have you actually tested the function to see if it will work where you have it?

Create a test page, put some text or images, or something on the page. Use the HTML tool and add the code to the body section. Upload that file to your website.

Visit that page a couple of times, and then after enough time has passed, check the Google Analytics site to see if the page has registered.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
