I am very new to the site and this software. I bought the VSD a few weeks ago and have been designing a site for a non-profit organization, plus I have my own website for crafts/invitations. I cannot get the site that I created (for the non-profit) to upload to either site. I am at a loss. I thought if I could get the newly made site to upload into my website then I would know that the info I have in order to publish to the non-profit is wrong. However, it's not publishing to either.
The non profit site is http://www.nationalpolicewivesassociation.org/. I am putting the following info into the set up internet info window ....
Server: ftp.nationalpolicewivesassociation.org
the username and password I was given
wwwfolder: public_html
When I press publish I get ..... The program cannot access the calalog on the server.
Now if I take out the wwwfolder info, then the error message says ....Error while uploading. The program could not create a catalog.
I tried talking to a support person for CoffeeCup and basically I was told that the wwwwfolder must be wrong because it couldn't be the software in regards to the non-profit information.
I have been reading through a lot of these forums to see if there was a problem, but I haven't found anything specific tot he VSD 6.0.
My pages are all 1600x1650. I don't know if that matters. There are no symbols in the names of the pages.
I hope someone can help me. I am so frustrated after being so excited about all that I did to put together a new site for this non-profit organization.
Thanks,
Marie

try putting your wwwfolder like this: /public_html/ and see if that works, if not I'm still looking, am just guessing at this because that's what I have to do in the other 2 programs I use from CC
who's hosting your server also, that might help to know if you need the ftp. in front of the server id or not, if that's what they tell you to use then you probably do, just checking since I don't need that, but then I have my own hosting server so I have full access, dunno how much access you have to yours so that's why I ask.
I just tested uploading to my server and it worked fine, I dont' need the "ftp." in front of my server, but I explained why so you can decide to try it or not. I "did" need the / brackets surrounding the "public_html" though, so try that and see if it works for you. If you want it uploaded to any other directory other than the base directory then add that after the / so you would type
/public_html/otherfolderhere
and it will install it in the specified folder.
Hopefully that will fix this for you, let me know

Okay. I downloaded the Filezilla to see if that would help me. I was able to log on with ftp.nationalpolicewivesassocation.org as my host. The user name and password. Now, my problem seems to lie in the www folder. When I look at the site through filezilla, all of the webpages are listed under / . There really is no file name. I was told it was public_html. But if I look under the public folder, none of the webpages are there. Maybe that's just me being totally new to this, but I would think that if I was to publish pages to public_html then the files would be under there.
that actually depends on how much access you have to your server in the end. If you have access to the root directory that your public_html resides in then yes you would need the /public_html/ to be in the wwwfolder. If you don't have access any higher than the public_html folder, and if in fact you don't see public_html anywhere when you're looking in the FTP program, then you would just put either / or nothing at all and see if that works.
Marie, have you been told by your host that therre should be a folder named 'wwwfolder'? Usually the folder for websites are called public_html or www, but NOT one inside the other.
On the other hand, why don't you try to place a html file in what you see as the root (/) and then try accessing it with a web browser as just http://www.nationalpolicewivesassociation.org? If you can't see it, then create a public_html folder, upload a html file there and try accessing it using the same address. If there is no show, then create a www folder and do the same thing.

Oh, I noticed the typo in your domain name and corrected it. Is this the site in question?

What was the typo?? And there is no www folder on the server. I can log onto the server using Filezilla. Our current website is listed under the directory / . I just cannot get the VSD to upload the program to it. I am very frustrated.

If all your hosting provider says you need to enter in / , then for the WWW folder simply enter in / as well.
