I can see the vsd code if i open a preview and then view source but, is there a way before you publish to the web to publish to another folder or drive on the same system you develop the index.vnu(or other pages) so that you can possibly add other code or see the code in other programs like dreamweaver.
One of the task that would be nice is to create a layer insert an image and wrap text within that layer.
It seems that would have to be done in another program, If it can be done in VSD, please let me know how..

My other question is about template files, can these be opened in photoshop or other imaging editing programs by changing the file extention, if so is it a psd or other

Nope, the .vnu files aren't compatible with PS.

If you mean the 36 free templates you can download for VSD, the zipfile not only contains the .vnu file, each holds the HTML upload tree as well. That gives you access to all the pages for direct HTML editing, as well as all the images in their respective formats. I've already been using some of those elements after modification in my image editing program of choice. Just edit, and drag & drop the modified graphic back into your VSD workspace.
