This site is not totally done, i.e. the "Studio News" page is not up yet. But it's pretty slow loading, esp the menu bar buttons. Any suggestions? All the elements have been optimized.

It is graphic intensive, even after optimization. Your host server has a role too. But honestly on my cable, it wasn't that slow. I have seen far worse.

The site load time seems fine to me, my only critique is that it seems distracting to have so many "blocks" loading. But this is coming from someone with ADHD, so take it for what it's worth

Check your Files folder and clear out anything you no longer need. The pic below is just a few of the images on the 'First Time' page:

It looks like the whole page is made of 1000 x 100 px slices ??? You could make one big image, then use the standard settings for new pages to add it as an actual background.
Just looked at a few other pages, and I see all those "slices" flash as the site loads. It's not slow for me, but I could see where this might look weird on a slower connection as the page come in strip by strip

Thanks everyone! I had not thought of making the main image into the background image. Am I correct in thinking that would make the index page load slow from the big background image, but then the rest of the pages would be fast because they'd be cached?
Any ideas on how to make a better menu bar-- can I specify an area of a page to use as a link, or must a link be via text or to an element?
Thanks for the help, I've so much to learn!

With VSD, each page has unique images, so there is no caching to use on subsequent pages. The first time you visit each page you download a duplicate copy of the same image.
I think it's fine the way it is, unless you want to earn html...

Ahh, good to know. Sadly no time to learn html these days. I'll have to perfect my VSD skillz.
Many thanks!

Of course, I read that as "yoga effect" and was psyched.
But still would love any answer to this:

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
